Location: Lanham, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem schedule, days may vary, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Day shift)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $18 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate hands-on care to geriatric patients, helping with activities of daily living
Monitor and record vital signs and patient observations accurately
Assist nursing staff with safe transfers, mobility support, and positioning
Support patient dignity and independence through respectful, person-centered care
Maintain clear, timely documentation and communicate changes to the care team
Follow infection control protocols and facility policies to keep patients safe

Qualifications

GNA certification (required) or equivalent state-recognized credential
Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
Ability to pass background checks and required immunizations
Comfort working with elderly populations and residents with mobility needs
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of an accredited GNA program or equivalent training

Knowledge & Skills

Understanding of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
Skilled in activities of daily living (ADLs) assistance and mobility support
Accurate vital signs measurement and basic clinical observation
Good documentation practices and effective communication with clinical teams
Patient-centered approach with strong interpersonal skills
