Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to geriatric patients, assisting with activities of daily living
• Support safe mobility and fall-prevention efforts while encouraging independence
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes to nursing staff
• Assist with feeding, grooming, bathing, toileting, and positioning with dignity
• Communicate clearly with nurses, therapists, residents, and families to support collaborative care
• Document care provided and observations promptly and accurately in patient records

Qualifications

• Active GNA certification (required)
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfortable working with older adults and managing common geriatric needs
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a care team
• Ability to pass facility-required background checks and health screenings

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of a recognized GNA program and current GNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic geriatric care
• Basic vital signs measurement and patient observation
• Infection control and safe hygiene practices
• Safe patient transfer and positioning techniques
• Dependable time management and documentation skills
