Roles & Responsibilities

Accurately perform echocardiogram studies including Transthoracic 2-D, M-Mode, Color-flow Doppler, Transesophageal, Exercise stress and pharmacological echocardiography
Conduct other cardiac diagnostic studies like EKG, Holter prep, monitoring, analysis and Cardiac stress tests
Utilize echocardiographs, cardiac stress systems, electrocardiographs, Holter monitors and computer analysis to deliver top diagnostic information to physicians
Assess hospital information systems for seamless scheduling, processing and charging
Implement infection control practices and aseptic techniques
Provide preceptorship and clinical guidance to students
Deliver age-specific cardiac diagnostic tests for neonatal and pediatric patients

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED
Basic Life Support certification
Registered Cardiac Sonographer
Successful completion of certification program and/or two years hands-on experience with echocardiography

Education

High School Diploma or GED
Preferred: Certificate Program in Cardiovascular Sonography
