Roles & Responsibilities

• Operate CT scanner safely and efficiently to produce high-quality diagnostic images
• Prepare patients for procedures, explain imaging steps, and ensure patient comfort
• Perform contrast administration and monitor patients per facility protocols
• Adhere to radiation safety and infection control procedures at all times
• Collaborate with radiologists and care teams to prioritize studies and expedite critical results
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation including image archiving (PACS)
• Participate in competency exams and skills checklists to maintain clinical excellence

Qualifications

• Current CT Technologist credentials (ARRT-CT or state equivalent) preferred
• BLS certification required
• DCI/BVP certification listed as required
• License/Certificate Verification completed and valid for Illinois practice
• Previous CT experience in an acute care or hospital setting preferred
• Ability to pass required health screening and drug testing

Education

• Associate degree in Radiologic Technology or related field preferred
• ARRT registration in Radiography or CT preferred; state licensure as required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of CT imaging protocols and cross-sectional anatomy
• Patient positioning and atraumatic patient handling skills
• Familiarity with PACS and electronic medical record systems
• Competence in contrast administration and screening for contraindications
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, especially during night operations
• Attention to detail with strong documentation and safety mindset
