Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, skilled occupational therapy interventions under the direction of the supervising therapist
• Assess residents' functional abilities and develop practical, goal-focused treatment plans
• Implement therapeutic activities to improve independence in daily living tasks
• Collaborate with nursing and rehab staff to coordinate care and support recovery goals
• Document resident progress thoroughly and communicate updates with the care team and family
• Train and support aides and family members on safe techniques and carryover activities

Qualifications

• Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential
• Ability to start quickly — the role is listed as Quick Start/Open
• Experience in rehabilitation or skilled nursing settings preferred
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach
• Current BLS or CPR certification preferred (if required by facility, assistance may be available)

Education

• Graduated from an accredited COTA/OTA program (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Foundational occupational therapy principles and rehab approaches
• Skilled in ADL training, adaptive equipment, and mobility strategies
• Comfort collaborating with nursing and multidisciplinary teams
• Accurate clinical documentation and charting practices
• Patient-centered care with strong observational and problem-solving skills
