Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care and assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting
• Monitor and record vital signs, intake/output and changes in condition accurately
• Support safe mobility and fall prevention by using proper transfer techniques
• Follow infection prevention practices and maintain a clean, safe environment
• Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, families and the care team to support person-centered care
• Document care thoroughly in the assigned charting system and report concerns to nursing staff promptly
• Participate as a collaborative team member during shift handoffs and care planning

Qualifications

• Valid CNA certification in good standing (state certification required)
• Up-to-date required immunizations and health clearance per employer policy: MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap, COVID-19 vaccine, Influenza vaccine
• Current physical/health statement and cleared Trinity 10 panel drug screen
• Background check and any required state registry checks
• Comfortable working in long-term care or skilled nursing settings; prior experience preferred but new grads welcome
• Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-first attitude
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completed state-approved CNA training program and active CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in resident-focused personal care and ADLs
• Knowledge of infection control and standard precautions
• Basic vital sign assessment and reporting
• Safe transfer and ambulation techniques
• Accurate documentation and time management
• Teamwork, professionalism and a respectful approach to residents and families
• Familiarity with long-term care routines and regulatory standards
