Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care including assistance with activities of daily living
• Monitor and document vital signs and changes in patient condition accurately
• Assist nursing staff with treatments and timely patient transfers
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control practices
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with patients, families and the care team
• Support care plans by reporting observations and participating in team huddles
• Help residents maintain dignity and independence through person-centered care

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) — must be able to work in Maine
• Current CPR/BLS certification required or willingness to obtain prior to start
• Ability to pass background check and required health screenings (TB, immunizations)
• Comfortable working in long shifts and standing for extended periods
• Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative attitude
• Previous experience in long-term care or similar settings is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of an approved CNA training program required

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on patient care and ADL assistance
• Vital signs measurement and basic clinical observations
• Infection control and standard precautions
• Clear, compassionate communication with patients and team members
• Time management and prioritization during busy shifts
• Basic charting and documentation skills
