Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care assisting residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding)
• Monitor residents’ condition and report changes to the nursing team to ensure safety and timely care
• Assist with safe transfers and mobility support while promoting independence and dignity
• Support medication and treatment routines by following care plans and communicating with licensed nurses
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and observations
• Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean, respectful environment
• Collaborate with family members and the interdisciplinary team to deliver person-centered care

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (New York state) — required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification — preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfortable providing direct resident care with a compassionate attitude
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively on a team
• Ability to follow care plans, prioritize tasks, and document accurately
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to resident safety and dignity

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) — required (New York)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic patient care
• Familiarity with infection prevention and safe handling techniques
• Ability to observe, report, and document changes in resident condition
• Empathy, patience, and excellent interpersonal skills
• Time management and the ability to work in a fast-paced care setting
• Basic charting and record-keeping skills
