Candidate Pay Rate: $31 - $21.7 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate direct care to geriatric psychiatric patients, supporting dignity and comfort
Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility
Monitor patient safety and behavior, promptly reporting changes to nursing and clinical staff
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to support individualized treatment plans
Maintain accurate patient observations and documentation to support continuity of care
Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and patient privacy standards at all times
Support de-escalation and safe patient engagement strategies appropriate for inpatient psychiatry

Qualifications

Active CNA Certification (California) - required
Active BLS certification - required
Minimum 2 years of experience in an acute care setting
Inpatient psychiatry experience - preferred
Strong communication skills and a commitment to patient safety
Ability to work rotating day and night shifts

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of geriatric patient needs and common psychiatric presentations
Comfort working in an inpatient psychiatric environment
Strong patient observation and reporting skills
Basic nursing procedures and safe patient handling
Good teamwork, communication, and situational awareness
