Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, supporting comfort and dignity
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding)
• Observe and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly
• Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Document care accurately and timely to maintain clear communication across shifts
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents
• Build rapport with residents and families to create meaningful connections

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (New Mexico or eligible to transfer)
• Current CPR/BLS preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Up-to-date immunizations and TB testing as required by facility policy
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening
• Comfortable working 12+ hour day shifts and standing for extended periods
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Active CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assisting with ADLs and basic patient care
• Familiarity with infection control and standard precautions
• Safe patient transfer and positioning techniques
• Basic vital signs measurement and documentation
• Comfortable using electronic charting / EHR systems
• Excellent interpersonal skills for resident-centered care
