Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures with precision and care
• Prepare patients and the cath lab by setting up sterile trays, monitoring equipment, and ensuring all supplies are ready
• Operate and troubleshoot imaging equipment and hemodynamic monitors during procedures
• Assist physicians during procedures by passing instruments, administering contrast under protocol, and maintaining sterile technique
• Monitor patient status before, during, and after procedures and report changes promptly
• Maintain accurate procedure documentation and instrument counts to support patient safety and regulatory compliance
• Collaborate closely with nursing and imaging teams to deliver efficient, high-quality patient care

Qualifications

• Certification or registry in cardiovascular technology or cath lab specialty preferred (e.g., RCIS, RCES)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Graduation from an accredited cardiovascular technology, surgical technologist, or related program
• Prior experience in a cardiac cath lab or interventional cardiology suite is highly valued
• Strong attention to sterile technique, patient safety, and teamwork
• Ability to pass required pre-employment screenings and immunizations

Education

• Associate degree or certificate in cardiovascular technology, surgical technology, or related field

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of hemodynamics, angiographic imaging, and contrast use
• Proficiency with fluoroscopy and cath lab imaging systems
• Skilled in sterile technique and procedural instrumentation
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in high-paced environments
• Ability to prioritize tasks and respond quickly during procedures
• Basic computer and electronic medical record documentation skills
