Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform and assist with invasive cardiac catheterization procedures, maintaining sterile technique
• Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain cath lab equipment and imaging systems
• Monitor patients continuously during procedures and respond to changes in condition
• Collaborate closely with cardiologists, nurses, and the multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent patient care
• Prepare procedure rooms, ensure proper instrument availability, and restock supplies
• Document procedural details, patient status, and post-procedure instructions accurately in the medical record
• Adhere to radiation safety practices and infection control standards to protect patients and staff
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and department efficiency

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab or similar interventional cardiology setting
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Cardiovascular technologist certification (RCIS or CCI) preferred or relevant certification/credentials
• State licensure or authorization to practice as required by the facility
• Comfortable working with fluoroscopy, hemodynamic monitoring, and intra-procedural support
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work calmly under pressure

Education

• Associate degree or diploma in Cardiovascular Technology, Radiologic Technology, or related allied health field, or equivalent clinical experience

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and catheterization procedures
• Proficiency with sterile technique, instrument handling, and angiographic imaging
• Familiarity with EKG interpretation, hemodynamic monitoring, and contrast management
• Experience documenting in electronic medical records and following facility protocols
• Strong teamwork, situational awareness, and patient-centered care approach
