Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents to promote dignity and comfort
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Support mobility and safe transfers while using proper body mechanics and safety protocols
• Observe residents’ physical and emotional condition and promptly report changes to licensed nursing staff
• Accurately document care provided and update charts according to facility policies
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver consistent, high-quality care
• Help create a positive, home-like environment through respectful interactions and engagement

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification or equivalent (required)
• Active eligibility to work in the U.S. and meet state-specific requirements
• Comfortable working with older adults and understanding of geriatric care needs
• Strong communication and teamwork skills with a patient, respectful approach
• Willingness to complete facility onboarding requirements (background check, immunizations, TB screen)
• Reliable transportation for per-diem shifts

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an approved GNA / nursing assistant training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Basic personal care techniques and safe patient handling
• Familiarity with infection prevention and basic clinical observation
• Ability to document care accurately and follow care plans
• Comfort working with residents with dementia or special needs
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to de-escalate or redirect when needed
• Time management and the ability to prioritize resident safety
