Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming) with dignity and respect
• Support safe mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report any changes to the nursing team
• Provide compassionate, person-centered care and build rapport with residents and families
• Maintain clean, safe resident environments and follow infection control protocols
• Document care and observations promptly and communicate effectively with the care team
• Observe residents for changes in condition and escalate concerns to licensed staff
• Participate in team huddles and contribute to a positive, collaborative workplace

Qualifications

• GNA certification/class (required)
• Current CPR/BLS certification (preferred or obtain upon hire)
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings preferred
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and meet facility immunization requirements
• Compassionate, patient-focused attitude and strong communication skills
• Ability to stand, walk, and assist residents for the duration of assigned shifts

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• GNA certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assisting with ADLs and resident hygiene
• Comfortable taking vitals and observing clinical changes
• Knowledge of infection control and basic safety procedures
• Familiarity with patient transfer techniques and use of assistive devices
• Basic documentation skills and ability to follow care plans
• Strong teamwork, time management, and interpersonal skills
• Empathy, patience, and a calm demeanor in stressful situations
