Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for diagnostic and interventional cardiology, vascular and interventional radiology procedures
• Perform and interpret hemodynamic monitoring to support safe, effective procedures
• Assist with angiography and cardiac catheterization, and support pacemaker and IABP insertions
• Document care accurately and efficiently in the Meditech EMR
• Operate and monitor Sensis and Siemens lab equipment during procedures
• Participate as an active member of a 4-person call team and respond appropriately while on call
• Educate patients and families about procedures, peri-procedure care and post-procedure instructions
• Maintain radiation safety and quality standards while supporting image acquisition and processing

Qualifications

• Current RN license in good standing
• Minimum 2 years of experience in an interventional cath lab
• BLS certification required
• Comfortable taking scheduled call and working occasional weekends/holidays
• Hands-on experience with angiography, cardiac catheterization, vascular procedures and hemodynamic monitoring
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR and Sensis/Siemens monitoring equipment preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Cardiac catheterization and angiography procedures
• Hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation
• Interventional radiology and vascular procedure support
• Pacemaker and IABP insertion assistance
• Basic understanding of CT, MRI, Ultrasound and Nuclear Medicine as they relate to procedural care
• Radiology image processing fundamentals
• Experience with Meditech documentation, Sensis monitoring and Siemens lab equipment
• Strong patient communication, critical thinking and team collaboration skills
