Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality telemetry and medical-surgical nursing care to assigned patients
• Continuously monitor cardiac telemetry and promptly escalate any arrhythmias or concerning trends
• Perform thorough assessments, document findings clearly in the medical record, and implement appropriate interventions
• Administer medications and treatments safely according to policy and physician orders
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to create and carry out individualized patient care plans
• Float to MedSurg units as needed, maintaining flexibility while delivering consistent standards of care
• Participate in required competency evaluations and specialty exams to maintain clinical currency
• Support infection prevention and safety practices, including fit testing and required immunizations

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Nursys verification and license/certificate verification required)
• Experience in telemetry and medical-surgical (MedSurg) nursing; ability to float to MedSurg
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• CPI and DCI/BVP certifications as required by facility
• Completion of required health screenings and immunizations (COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, TB, Hep B, Varicella, Tdap, influenza, physical/health statement)
• Successful completion of Prime Core Competencies, Skills Checklist, and Specialty Exam as part of onboarding

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry rhythm recognition and cardiac monitoring best practices
• Strong medical-surgical assessment and clinical judgment
• Skilled medication administration and IV therapy knowledge
• Proficient documentation in electronic health records and clear communication
• Infection prevention, PPE use, and workplace safety compliance
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work effectively in fast-paced patient care settings
• Teamwork, flexibility to float between units, and patient-centered bedside manner
