Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry continuously, taking timely action for changes in patient condition
• Provide high-quality nursing care on the 4 South Cardiac unit and float as needed to Med‑Surg areas (Wound Care, Stroke, Oncology, Respiratory, Observation, ED/Med‑Surg boarders)
• Document thoroughly and accurately in Epic EMR — precision here keeps the whole team aligned
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists and the care team to develop and execute individualized patient plans
• Perform bedside assessments, administer treatments and medications safely according to policy
• Educate patients and families about cardiac conditions, procedures and discharge instructions
• Demonstrate and maintain competency in telemetry reading and respond to alarms and events professionally
• Support unit workflows, handoffs and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Active BLS required and current ACLS required
• Minimum 3 years of recent/current Telemetry and/or Stepdown experience (must be able to read telemetry)
• Current Epic EMR proficiency — must be documented (no refresher/1:1 options allowed)
• Ability to pass a telemetry competency test on day one; inability to pass may result in termination
• Able to work 12-hour day shifts and every weekend as required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation skills
• Cardiac nursing and stepdown patient management
• Proficient Epic EMR documentation and workflows
• Med‑Surg nursing fundamentals and experience across Wound Care, Stroke, Oncology and Respiratory care
• Excellent clinical assessment, prioritization and critical thinking
• Clear communication and teamwork in fast-paced settings
• Comfortable floating to varied units and adapting to changing assignments
