Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality respiratory care and cardiopulmonary assessments for surgical patients in the OR.
• Provide diagnostic and treatment patient care using evidence-based respiratory therapy techniques.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and perioperative staff to optimize patient respiratory status.
• Monitor ventilators and airway devices, responding promptly to changes in patient condition.
• Document interventions and patient responses thoroughly and communicate effectively during handoffs.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance respiratory care outcomes in the perioperative environment.

Qualifications

• Current NBRC-RRT (National Board for Respiratory Care) registration required
• Active Oregon Respiratory Care License required upon submission
• Healthcare Provider-level BLS required
• AHA ACLS required
• PALS and NRP required
• Clinical respiratory care experience with critical and non-critical patients preferred (2 years preferred)
• Operating Room (OR) experience is a plus

Education

• Completion of an accredited Respiratory Care program or equivalent clinical training (typical requirement for practice)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong cardiopulmonary assessment skills across age groups
• Proficient in evidence-based respiratory therapy techniques and ventilator management
• Comfortable providing care in the perioperative/OR environment
• Excellent communication and interdisciplinary teamwork skills
• Ability to prioritize and respond quickly in acute situations
