Registered Nurse - Telemetry (Ortho-Neuro)

Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating day and night shifts (per diem; both day and night shifts available, specific start/end times vary by assignment). No block schedules and no set days off — flexibility is required.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor telemetry and interpret EKGs to identify changes in cardiac status promptly
- Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care for ortho-neuro patients on a 30-bed telemetry floor
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress accurately in EPIC
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to deliver coordinated care
- Respond to acute events and implement ACLS protocols as needed
- Complete required competency exams, skills checklists, and maintain mandatory certifications
- Deliver exceptional patient and family-centered customer service at every touchpoint
Qualifications
- Active RN license (Nursys verification required)
- BLS and ACLS required
- NIHSS certification required
- Telemetry nursing experience with EKG interpretation
- EPIC charting experience required
- Comfortable working on an ortho-neuro telemetry floor with typical ratios of 1:5 to 1:6
- Willingness to work per-diem shifts with flexible availability (no set days off)
- Meet employer health and screening requirements (e.g., COVID-19 vaccine, TB test, MMR, Hepatitis B, influenza, fit testing)
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and recognizing arrhythmias
- Strong EKG interpretation skills
- Accurate and timely EPIC documentation
- Excellent patient assessment and clinical decision-making
- Outstanding communication and customer-service mindset
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Familiarity with competency testing and skills validation processes
