Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide focused telemetry nursing care for assigned patients, monitoring cardiac rhythms and responding to changes
• Interpret telemetry strips and communicate clinically significant findings to the team in a timely manner
• Use EPIC to document assessments, interventions, and patient progress accurately and professionally
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and adjust individualized care plans
• Perform and maintain required competency checks, skills assessments, and specialty exams
• Ensure patient safety by adhering to hospital protocols, infection control practices, and medication administration standards
• Educate patients and families about cardiac monitoring, treatments, and discharge instructions in a compassionate manner

Qualifications

• Active RN credentials with Nursys verification (license eligibility required)
• Minimum 1 year of telemetry nursing experience
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• DCI/BVP certification as required by facility
• Demonstrated rhythm interpretation skills (Prime Basic Rhythm Interpretation screening required)
• Successful completion of facility-specific competency exams and skills checklists

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Proficient use of EPIC electronic health record
• Strong clinical assessment and triage abilities
• Familiarity with telemetry alarm management and documentation best practices
• Effective communication and teamwork in fast-paced acute care settings
• Comfort with competency-based testing and skills validation processes
