Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; rotating schedule with every 3rd weekend and 12 hours of call per 4-week schedule (night)

Candidate Pay Rate: $53 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, one-to-one labor support and continuous fetal monitoring during active labor
- Manage postpartum and newborn care with attention to safety, bonding, and successful transitions home
- Assist and support vaginal deliveries and C-section procedures as part of the interdisciplinary team
- Interpret fetal monitoring and escalate concerns promptly to ensure optimal maternal-fetal outcomes
- Document care accurately in Meditech/CPN EMR and maintain up-to-date patient records
- Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesia, nursery staff and techs to coordinate seamless care
- Educate birthing people and families on labor progress, interventions, postpartum care and newborn needs
- Participate in unit safety practices including infant security protocols and infection prevention
Qualifications
- Active RN license (state-appropriate) and current BLS required
- ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN fetal monitoring certification required
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
- Experience in LDRP/high-volume labor units and prior exposure to vaginal deliveries and C-sections preferred
- Comfortable using Meditech EMR and GE fetal monitors; CPN experience a plus
- Ability to work rotating nights, every third weekend, and accept periodic on-call responsibilities
Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in fetal monitoring interpretation and timely escalation
- Strong newborn and postpartum assessment and care skills
- Proficiency with Meditech/CPN documentation and electronic charting
- Experience with GE fetal monitoring equipment
- Excellent clinical judgment, critical thinking and triage abilities
- Effective communication and teamwork in fast-paced obstetric environments
- Patient education and family-centered care approach
