X-Ray Technician - Radiology

Location: Bakersfield, CA

Start Date: 07-06-2026

End Date: 10-05-2026

Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 8- or 12-hour shifts, every other weekend, holiday rotation, on-call with 30-minute response time

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Perform high-quality X-ray exams on patients of all ages, including brain, abdomen, pelvis, and extremities
Operate state-of-the-art GE and Toshiba imaging equipment with precision
Use Radnet and Merge Unity PACS to manage and store images
Float to nearby Mercy Southwest location as needed to support patient care
Collaborate with radiologists and the healthcare team to ensure accurate diagnoses
Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for every patient

Qualifications

Must hold ARRT certification in Radiography
Current BLS certification from AHA or equivalent
Minimum 2 years of experience as an X-ray Technician
Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call
Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach

Knowledge & Skills

In-depth knowledge of X-ray techniques and positioning
Proficiency with GE and Toshiba imaging systems
Familiarity with Radnet and Merge Unity PACS
Understanding of radiation safety and ALARA principles
Excellent patient interaction and customer service skills
