Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams across radiology modalities with care and accuracy
• Operate GE imaging equipment and follow unit protocols to ensure consistent results
• Prepare patients for procedures, explain exam steps, and ensure patient comfort and safety
• Document exam findings and enter accurate data into Meditech EMR in a timely manner
• Collaborate with radiologists and the imaging team to support diagnoses and patient care plans
• Maintain and troubleshoot equipment, report issues, and follow infection control and safety policies
• Support cross-training and assist with other imaging modalities when needed

Qualifications

• ARDMS certification required for ultrasound roles
• BLS certification required; PALS/ACLS preferred where applicable
• Minimum 1 year of relevant sonography experience (per posting); 2 years preferred for competitive applicants
• Comfortable using Meditech EMR and GE imaging systems
• Strong patient care skills, excellent communication, and ability to work weekends and rotating shifts
• Relevant state licensure and any facility-specific credentials as required

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in ultrasound imaging techniques and sonographic anatomy
• Experience with GE ultrasound systems and image optimization
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR for documentation and order processing
• Knowledge of cross-sectional imaging basics (CT/MRI/Xray/Mammo) and when to collaborate with those teams
• Good clinical judgement, infection control practices, and patient safety awareness
• Strong interpersonal skills for working with patients, technologists, and radiologists
