Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Varied 8-hour day shifts (6:00 AM or 10:00 AM start), with overnight call once a week and weekend call coverage 3 days per month

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $52 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assist in a fast-paced CVOR performing open-heart surgeries like CABG and valve procedures
Set up and maintain sterile field, ensuring all instruments and equipment are ready
Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesia to provide seamless patient care
Monitor and interpret EKG strips and assist with ventilator management as needed
Respond to overnight and weekend call to support emergency cardiac surgeries

Qualifications

2+ years of strong CVOR experience is a must
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Must be comfortable with call requirements and a busy surgical environment
Ability to float to other Sacramento facilities if needed (rare for OR RNs)

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in sterile technique and OR protocols for cardiac surgery
Skilled in EKG interpretation and basic life support
Comfortable working with Cerner EMR system
Strong communication and teamwork skills in high-pressure settings
