Location: Phoenix, AZ

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, rotating days and nights, with weekend rotation (4 weekend shifts per 8 weeks)

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and EKGs for patients in a fast-paced Neuro Tele unit
Administer medications including titratable drips (Amiodarone, Cardizem, Insulin) and manage heparin therapy
Provide comprehensive care for patients with neurological conditions such as CVA, TBI, spinal surgery, encephalopathy, and brain tumors
Perform sterile Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes with meticulous attention to sterile field
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including SWAT RNs, RT, and pharmacy for optimal patient outcomes
Deliver bedside shift reports and ensure seamless continuity of care

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of RN experience in Neuro Telemetry or similar unit required
Current BLS and ACLS certifications
Level 1 Trauma experience mandatory
Must pass dysrhythmia exam (2 attempts given)
Proficiency in EKG interpretation and ability to titrate drips
Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
Neuro experience highly preferred

Knowledge & Skills

EKG interpretation and dysrhythmia identification
Titrating intravenous drips (Amio, Cardizem, Insulin)
Sterile field competency for central line dressing changes and Foley insertion
Neuro assessment skills for trached patients, post-surgical spine, and stroke
Cerner EMR proficiency
Knowledge of common neuro diagnoses and interventions
