Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts: 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM or 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM, including every other weekend and holidays as needed

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide intermediate care to patients with cardiovascular conditions, including those recovering from CVICU, thoracic surgery, EP procedures, and structural heart interventions
Monitor and interpret telemetry strips for arrhythmias and cardiac changes
Titrate and manage IV drips such as amiodarone, nitro, nicardipine, epinephrine, and cardizem
Collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists, and cardiologists to deliver comprehensive care
Assess and manage patients with CHF, atrial fibrillation, CVA, and other vascular diagnoses
Float to units of same or lower acuity as needed
Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4, with 1:3 for post-surgical first 24 hours

Qualifications

Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Minimum 1 year of recent experience with CVU or intermediate care patient population
Valid driver's license (used for radius rule verification)
No artificial nails allowed in patient care areas

Knowledge & Skills

Proficiency in drip titration and vasoactive medication management
Telemetry interpretation and rhythm recognition
Respiratory equipment management (BiPAP, CPAP, nasal cannula)
Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced cardiac unit
