Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to a diverse patient population including oncology and trauma patients in a progressive care unit (PCU) and med/surg setting.
• Administer chemotherapy and monitor patients for reactions; manage titratable drips such as heparin and cardizem.
• Utilize hemodynamic monitoring (CVP, Aline, Swan-Ganz) and ventilator management to ensure patient stability.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including case managers, social workers, and therapists to optimize patient outcomes.
• Perform hourly rounding to enhance patient experience and address concerns promptly.
• Float to med/surg and other PCU units as needed, maintaining the same level of care.

Qualifications

• Current and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nebraska
• Minimum 1 year of recent PCU/oncology or med/surg experience
• ACLS and BLS certification required
• ONS/ONCC certification preferred; chemotherapy certification a plus
• Willingness to pass an open-book skills exam (90% required) during orientation
• First-time travelers welcome to apply
• Driver's license required for verification of residence outside 50-mile radius
• No artificial nails allowed in patient care areas

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in EPIC electronic medical records
• Experience with Alaris IV pumps and hemodynamic monitoring equipment
• Knowledge of chemotherapy administration and safety protocols
• Ability to manage ventilators and interpret hemodynamic data
• Strong teamwork and communication skills; positive attitude essential
