Roles & Responsibilities

Perform initial triage and assessments for patients of all ages in urgent care
Administer medications and IV therapies with precision and care
Coordinate patient referrals and track progress for seamless care
Document everything accurately while educating patients on their health
Maintain a safe, clean environment and respond to emergencies calmly
Collaborate with the team to prioritize needs and expedite services
Make follow-up calls to ensure patients are on the right track

Qualifications

Current full, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Alaska (or applied for before start)
2 years of general nursing experience with at least 1 year in ambulatory or urgent care
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
High school diploma or equivalent
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
Clinical Competency Assessment within 3 months and every 3 years
High Risk Competency within 3 months and every year

Education

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
High school diploma or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

Nursing process and critical thinking
Patient assessment, triage, and prioritization
IV access, medication administration, and EMR systems
Customer service, safety, and infection control principles
Multi-tasking, problem-solving, and time management
Oral and written communication with competent charting
