Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize ventilator settings for critically ill patients to support respiratory stability
• Perform ABG collection and analysis to guide timely treatment decisions
• Provide tracheostomy care and assist with intubation when needed to maintain patient airway safety
• Deliver bronchodilator therapy and high-flow oxygen interventions to improve patient breathing
• Respond rapidly and effectively to code blue events as an essential member of the emergency team
• Safely transport patients within the facility while monitoring respiratory needs
• Document patient assessments and interventions accurately in Meditech for continuity of care
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary ICU teams to deliver high-acuity respiratory support

Qualifications

• Current RRT or CRT certification (required)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience (unit lists 2 years experience)
• One year of ICU experience preferred
• Comfortable operating Drager ventilators, Philips V60, Vapotherm and Metaneb
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and cover every other weekend

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management and weaning protocols
• Arterial blood gas (ABG) collection and interpretation
• Tracheostomy care and intubation assistance
• High-flow oxygen therapy and bronchodilator delivery
• Airway clearance techniques and code blue response
• Patient assessment, monitoring and safe transport
• Familiarity with Meditech documentation system
