Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage ventilator settings and deliver evidence-based ventilator care for critically ill patients
• Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) draws and interpret results to guide respiratory interventions
• Assist with intubations and provide skilled airway management support in high-acuity situations
• Deliver aerosolized therapies including nebulizer treatments, Metaneb, and IPPB as indicated
• Provide chest physiotherapy (CPT) and other respiratory procedures to improve patient outcomes
• Document assessments and treatments accurately in Meditech and communicate changes to the interdisciplinary team
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care plans and support recovery across all age ranges
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other providers to optimize respiratory care in ICU/ED/NICU settings

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification (required)
• BLS certification (required)
• Minimum 2+ years of hospital respiratory therapy experience (required)
• Experience in ICU, NICU or ED settings (must-have)
• Proven ability to draw ABGs
• Comfort assisting with intubation and managing high-acuity patients
• Familiarity with documentation in Meditech (preferred)
• Experience with point-of-care testing (I-Stat) and Servo I ventilator (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management and troubleshooting (adult and neonatal/pediatric experience valued)
• ABG interpretation and clinical decision-making
• Airway management and intubation assistance
• Competence with nebulizer therapy, Metaneb, IPPB and CPT techniques
• Comfort working across the lifespan — from neonates to adults
• Documentation skills in Meditech and effective interdisciplinary communication
• Familiarity with Servo I ventilator and I-Stat devices (preferred)
