Roles & Responsibilities

• Float across Telemetry, Medical-Surgical, and ICU units to provide expert nursing care
• Titrate cardiac drips including Amio, Cardene, Nitro, Heparin, and Dobutamine
• Monitor and interpret EKGs for patients on centralized telemetry
• Collaborate with charge nurses and clinical supervisors to ensure safe patient ratios of 1:3-4
• Pass a dysrhythmia exam and complete a simulation lab on orientation
• Adapt quickly to different units and campuses (Chandler and Mercy Gilbert) with 1.5-hour notice
• Provide post-cath lab, post-vascular, day-2 CABG, and neuro-surgical care

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Arizona or compact state
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Proven ability to titrate cardiac drips independently
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of offer (2 attempts max)
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry or acute care experience preferred
• NIHSS certification preferred for neuro unit floating

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in EKG interpretation and centralized tele monitoring
• Experience with cardiac drip titration (Amio, Cardizem, Cardene, Nitro, Heparin, Dobutamine)
• Ability to float between tele, med-surg, and ICU as needed
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Comfortable using electronic health records and spectralink phones
