Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate bedside nursing care to telemetry patients on a busy 36-bed med-surg unit
• Continuously monitor cardiac telemetry, recognize changes, and respond promptly to patient needs and alarms
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient status in Cerner EMR
• Perform patient observation duties using Cerner Patient Observation (CPO) and remote telemetry monitoring tools
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate safe, effective patient care and transfers to procedures like Endoscopy, IR, and OR
• Support unit staffing needs, float to sister units (3W, 5W, K8) when required, and participate in weekend coverage
• Contribute to a positive unit culture by being team-oriented, hardworking, and compassionate

Qualifications

• Current basic life support (BLS) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience (experience in medical telemetry preferred)
• Demonstrated experience with medical telemetry and remote telemetry monitoring
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR and patient observation systems
• CMSRN encouraged and viewed favorably
• Leadership or charge nurse experience is a plus
• BSN preferred

• BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and interpreting cardiac rhythms
• Proficient use of Cerner electronic medical record system
• Skilled in patient observation and responding to alarms
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization
• Effective communication and teamwork in a fast-paced med-surg environment
• Comfortable using workstation-on-wheels and bedside technology (VC150s, Tap and Go access)
