Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor telemetry and respond promptly to arrhythmias and changes in cardiac status
• Provide specialized neuro-telemetry care on a 36-bed Neurosciences unit
• Perform procedures such as IV starts and Foley insertions safely and competently
• Document thoroughly and efficiently in Cerner EMR to ensure continuity of care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to create and execute patient-centered plans
• Lead emergency responses using ACLS protocols and NIH stroke assessment when needed
• Maintain safe patient ratios and prioritize tasks during stretch or high-acuity periods

Qualifications

• Active RN license (required)
• Minimum 2+ years clinical nursing experience (telemetry/med-surg/Neuro preferred)
• Current ACLS certification (required)
• NIH Stroke Scale certification (required)
• Demonstrated competency with telemetry monitoring and Cerner EMR
• Skill in IV starts and Foley insertion
• Comfort working nights, rotating schedules, and every other weekend

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• Neuro assessment and basic neuro care knowledge
• ACLS protocols and emergency response
• NIH stroke scale scoring and stroke pathway familiarity
• Proficient documentation in Cerner EMR
• IV insertion and urinary catheter placement
• Ability to manage med-surg equipment and maintain safe patient ratios
