Roles & Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality, compassionate critical care to pediatric patients in the PICU
Monitor and interpret vital signs and patient data to make timely clinical decisions
Administer medications, IV treatments, and advanced therapies safely and accurately
Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary team members
Provide family-centered care and clear communication to support parents and caregivers
Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress accurately in the EMR
Participate actively in orientation and training to integrate into the unit quickly

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — Massachusetts license or compact RN preferred
Experience or strong interest in pediatric critical care / PICU nursing
Current BLS certification; PALS certification required or willing to obtain
Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and IV/medication administration skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment
Willingness to complete facility orientation

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Pediatric critical care principles and PICU-specific protocols
Familiarity with ventilator management and advanced pediatric monitoring
Skilled in medication administration, IV therapy, and hemodynamic assessment
Effective communication with families and interdisciplinary teams
Accurate EMR documentation and care planning
Calm, decisive problem-solving under pressure
