Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to oncology and trauma patients in a mixed PCU/MedSurg unit
• Monitor and manage critical drips including insulin and cardizem, ensuring patient safety
• Collaborate with charge nurses, PT/OT, case managers, social workers, and dieticians to coordinate comprehensive care
• Float to med/surg and PCU units as needed, supporting your team with a smile
• Perform hourly rounding and uphold the unit philosophy: Be the type of Nurse you want to work with
• Administer chemotherapy and manage oncology patients (preferred) with a focus on dignity and respect

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Nebraska or compact state required
• Minimum 1 year recent experience in PCU and/or oncology
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• ONS/ONCC chemotherapy certification preferred
• EPIC experience preferred (within 6 months helpful but not required)
• Willingness to take an open-book exam on orientation and pass with 90%
• Driver's license required at submittal for radius verification

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in EPIC EMR
• Experience with Alaris IV pumps
• Knowledge of hemodynamic monitoring (CVP, Aline, Swan, EV-1000) - training available
• Ability to manage titratable drips (insulin, cardizem)
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Cultural competency and respect for diverse patient populations
