Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to adult patients in PCU/Oncology and Trauma PCU
• Administer medications and manage titratable drips (e.g., insulin, cardizem) safely and per policy
• Deliver oncology care and chemotherapy-related support (chemotherapy-certified nurses preferred for certain tasks)
• Monitor advanced hemodynamics (CVP, A-line, Swan, EV-1000) and provide ventilator support as needed
• Document thoroughly and timely in EPIC to ensure continuity of care
• Perform hourly rounding and contribute to a strong patient experience
• Float to med/surg and PCU units as needed while maintaining standards of care
• Complete orientation skills validation (open-book skills exam during orientation; 90% required to pass)

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license eligible for submission
• ACLS and BLS (AHA) required; NIHSS required
• Chemotherapy certification (ONS/ONCC) preferred but not required
• Minimum clinical experience noted in the posting: 1–2 years (posting notes 1 year in some sections and lists 2 years in the job details)
• Driver's license at time of submittal (used to verify radius rule)
• Comfort with 12-hour night shifts and every-other-weekend scheduling
• Willingness to pass required orientation skills assessment and follow unit policies (e.g., fingernail policy)

Education

• Active RN license required (BSN not required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with EPIC electronic charting (recent EPIC experience within 6 months noted as helpful)
• Familiarity with Alaris IV pumps and medication titration
• Experience or competency with ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring (CVP, A-line, Swan, EV-1000)
• Prior PCU, Med/Surg and/or oncology experience — ability to care for complex adult patients
• Comfort using patient lifts (Lyko and other lift equipment) and working with PT/OT support
• Strong teamwork, communication and patient-centered rounding skills
