Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM-7:00 PM or 6:30 PM-7:00 AM, every other weekend required

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care to adults and geriatrics with cardiac, nephrology, stroke, and other PCU-level conditions
Titrate critical drips such as Cardizem, beta-blockers, and seizure medications
Monitor continuous EEG and telemetry, interpreting changes and responding appropriately
Collaborate with charge nurses and patient care techs to maintain a 1:4-5 nurse-to-patient ratio
Float to medical floors, ICU, or rehab as needed, ensuring continuity of care
Maintain a positive attitude and strong communication skills in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Minimum 1 year of PCU experience preferred
Ability to pass an open-book skills exam with 90% during orientation
Driver's license required at submittal (to verify 50-mile radius rule)
No artificial nails allowed in patient care areas

Knowledge & Skills

Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Proficiency in titrating and managing multiple IV drips
Experience with continuous EEG monitoring
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
