Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: RN - PACU (Peds), 4-hour clinical shifts (exact start and end times to be scheduled), orientation required

Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Monitor and assess pediatric patients recovering from anesthesia with vigilance and compassion
Administer medications and treatments safely, following protocols and pediatric dosing guidelines
Provide clear, family-centered education and updates to parents and care teams
Collaborate with anesthesia, surgery and nursing teams to ensure smooth handoffs and continuity of care
Respond promptly to changes in patient status and escalate concerns when needed
Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic health record

Qualifications

Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Massachusetts
Clinical experience in PACU and/or pediatric nursing preferred
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) highly preferred
Comfortable with pediatric airway management and post-anesthesia monitoring
Ability to pass required background checks and facility onboarding

Education

ADN required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Strong knowledge of post-anesthesia care principles and pediatric physiology
Skill in IV therapy, medication administration and pain management techniques
Excellent communication skills with children, families and interdisciplinary teams
Proficiency with electronic health records and clinical documentation
Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced recovery setting
