Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate and skilled nursing care to neuro telemetry patients, including those with CVA, TBI, spinal surgery, and encephalopathy
• Monitor and interpret telemetry readings, titrating drips such as Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Heparin as needed
• Perform bedside report and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care
• Maintain strict sterile field during central line dressing changes and Foley catheter insertions, passing required SIMs lab
• Float to medical-surgical and telemetry floors as needed, supporting the team across units

Qualifications

• 2+ years of RN experience in a Level 1 trauma center
• Active RN license in Arizona or compact state (NLC)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Neuro experience highly preferred
• Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam (two attempts allowed)
• Comfort with electronic medical records, especially Cerner
• Must have own vehicle for travel (teams must travel together)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of sterile technique and ability to maintain sterile field
• Proficiency in titration of intravenous drips (Amio, Cardizem, Heparin)
• EKG interpretation and telemetry monitoring skills
• Knowledge of neuro patient assessment and common diagnoses (trach patients, CVA, TBI)
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities for bedside report and floating
• Adaptability to fast-paced, high turnover unit environment
