Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care for medical-surgical/telemetry patients during overnight shifts
• Monitor and interpret telemetry and vital signs, escalating changes promptly
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately per orders
• Perform thorough assessments and document patient status in the electronic health record
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and update care plans
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge needs
• Maintain a safe, organized environment and respond to emergencies with calm and competence

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California or eligibility to obtain one
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS or PALS a plus depending on unit needs
• Recent med-surg/telemetry experience preferred (per diem or acute care)
• Ability to work overnight shifts and provide consistent, reliable coverage
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• Medication administration and IV therapy skills
• Proficient clinical assessment and critical thinking
• Familiarity with electronic health records and documentation best practices
• Patient education and discharge planning
• Teamwork, prioritization, and time management during busy overnight shifts
