Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to patients in the MST program during overnight hours
• Conduct thorough patient assessments and document findings accurately and promptly
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely, following protocols and best practices
• Monitor patient status, recognize changes quickly, and escalate concerns when needed
• Support patients with sensitive care needs in a trauma-informed and respectful manner
• Maintain accurate, timely charting and ensure continuity of care between shifts
• Participate in shift handoffs to communicate patient priorities and next steps clearly

Qualifications

• Current, active California Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Experience (or specialized training) in MST-related care or trauma-informed nursing preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) a plus
• Comfort working overnight hours and in per-diem/float roles
• Current immunizations and ability to pass background checks and health screenings
• Strong patient communication skills and ability to work independently during night shift

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Trauma-informed care principles and sensitivity when working with MST patients
• Clinical assessment, medication administration, and documentation best practices
• Ability to triage and prioritize patient needs during overnight coverage
• Effective communication with multidisciplinary teams and patients' families
• Charting in electronic medical records and maintaining regulatory compliance
• Calm decision-making under pressure and strong clinical judgment
