Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM NOC; schedules released 4-6 weeks in advance; includes 6-9 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule. Schedule formats: Option A (scheduled at a single facility for the week, may float within that facility) or Option B (Just-In-Time/JIT: facility assigned 1-2 hours before shift).

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor and care for adult and geriatric telemetry patients across multiple specialties with skill and compassion.
• Interpret cardiac rhythms and respond promptly to telemetry changes to keep patients safe.
• Titrate heparin drips per unit protocols and accurately document all medication adjustments.
• Chart thoroughly and efficiently in EPIC so the whole care team stays informed.
• Float across Zone 3 facilities (OrthoColorado, Longmont United, St. Anthony, St. Anthony North) and adapt to unit-specific workflows.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams — RNs, physicians, RTs, aides and unit leadership — to deliver coordinated care.
• Support unit needs during nights and weekends, stepping into PCU/Stepdown or low-acuity ICU holds when needed.
• Participate in unit orientation and preceptor-led onboarding to maintain high standards of practice.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in state of practice (Colorado or compact RN license accepted as applicable).
• Minimum 2 years of MS-Telemetry (MS-Tele) nursing experience required.
• Current BLS and ACLS (AHA) certifications required; NIHSS certification required.
• Comfortable titrating heparin drips and managing common telemetry drips/infusions.
• Proven experience charting in EPIC preferred.
• Ability to float across a 60-mile zone and secure housing that enables floating between facilities.
• Valid driver’s license required (DL must be submitted); reliable transportation expected.
• Willingness to work 12-hour night shifts and fulfill weekend/holiday rotation expectations.
• BSN not required but welcomed.

Education

• Active RN license (required)
• BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm recognition
• Adult and geriatric patient assessment and acute care nursing skills
• Heparin titration and drip management
• EPIC electronic charting proficiency
• Experience across specialties: neuro, cardiac, oncology, rehab, renal, ortho, trauma, ED observation
• RT equipment familiarity (vents, CPAP, BiPAP) for coordination of care
• Float pool adaptability and Just-In-Time assignment readiness
• Strong communication, critical thinking and prioritization under night-shift conditions
