Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to Med/Surg patients with confidence and clinical skill
• Perform thorough assessments, develop individualized care plans, and adjust interventions as patients’ needs change
• Administer medications and treatments safely, monitor responses, and escalate concerns when needed
• Coordinate care and communicate effectively with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members
• Provide clear education and support to patients and families to promote recovery and safe transitions
• Document care accurately and timely in the patient record, maintaining high standards of compliance and quality

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice (or eligibility to obtain)
• Clinical experience or comfort working in a medical-surgical (Med/Surg) setting
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications encouraged
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and patient advocacy skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and prioritize patient safety

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of medical-surgical nursing principles and common procedures
• Medication administration and IV therapy knowledge
• Familiarity with electronic health record documentation and accurate charting
• Effective patient/family education and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple patients and adapt to changing clinical priorities
