Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care on a medical-surgical unit
Assess patient condition and implement individualized care plans
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
Monitor vital signs and respond promptly to changes in patient status
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
Document patient care thoroughly and in a timely manner
Support unit efficiency by prioritizing tasks and assisting colleagues as needed

Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse license (state licensure required; Hawaii licensure preferred)
Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Prior experience in medical-surgical nursing preferred
Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
Ability to work 12.5-hour shifts and provide compassionate, patient-centered care

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Solid knowledge of medical-surgical nursing practices and protocols
Proficiency with medication administration and IV therapy
Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
Strong teamwork, time management, and prioritization skills
Ability to handle fast-paced environments and adapt to changing patient needs
