Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate critical care for adult ICU patients
• Assess, monitor and respond to changes in patient condition with urgency and skill
• Manage ventilators, infusions and complex medication regimens safely
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapy and interdisciplinary team members to develop and execute care plans
• Document assessments, interventions and patient responses clearly and timely
• Educate patients and families about condition, treatment and discharge planning with empathy and clarity
• Participate in unit-based safety and quality improvement initiatives to improve outcomes

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license for California
• ICU experience preferred; comfort with critical care patient populations
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (or willingness to obtain promptly)
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and be available for per diem assignments
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass background and health screenings
• Strong teamwork, communication and clinical decision-making skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Active RN license in California

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care assessment and rapid recognition of patient deterioration
• Familiarity with ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
• Safe medication administration and titration of continuous infusions
• Effective interdisciplinary communication and handoff practices
• Prioritization and time management in a fast-paced ICU environment
• Basic familiarity with electronic charting and documentation best practices
