Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate, evidence-based critical care to adult ICU patients
- Monitor and interpret complex cardiac, hemodynamic, and ventilator data
- Initiate and manage advanced interventions in collaboration with the care team
- Communicate effectively with physicians, families, and multidisciplinary staff
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California (required)
- Experience in ICU or critical care settings
- Comfortable caring for ventilated and hemodynamically unstable patients
- Current BLS; ACLS preferred or willing to obtain
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work independently on per diem night shifts
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Clinical certifications or specialty training in critical care a plus
Knowledge & Skills
- Critical care assessment and monitoring
- Mechanical ventilation basics and ventilator management
- IV medication administration and titration
- Familiarity with telemetry, arterial lines, and central venous access
- Effective interdisciplinary communication and escalation
- Time management in high-acuity environments
