Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity bedside nursing care in the ICU, managing ventilated patients and post-CABG recovery
• Monitor and interpret hemodynamic data to guide critical interventions and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team
• Administer medications and advanced therapies safely and accurately, including responsibilities related to ECMO/CVICU when applicable
• Perform thorough shift-to-shift bedside reporting and update unit whiteboards to ensure continuity of care
• Respond to codes and emergency situations using ACLS/BLS protocols and sound clinical judgment
• Support unit flow by floating to other ICUs or PCU when required by volume and acuity

Qualifications

• Active Texas RN license required (temporary licenses will not be accepted)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2+ years of ICU/critical care experience (CVICU experience preferred)
• Experience with ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and post-CABG care
• Comfortable working in a high-acuity unit; ECMO, heart transplant and CABG experience are strong pluses
• Experience with Meditech documentation preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management and caring for mechanically ventilated patients
• Hemodynamic monitoring and interpreting invasive pressure waveforms
• Post-operative cardiac care including post-CABG management
• Familiarity with CVICU workflows, ECMO basics, and transplant patient needs
• Proficiency with Meditech or similar EHR systems
• Strong bedside communication and shift-reporting practices
