Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor critically ill patients, using sound clinical judgment to detect changes quickly
• Administer medications, manage infusions and titrate vasoactive drips per orders
• Provide ventilator care and advanced hemodynamic monitoring in partnership with the care team
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists and other disciplines to drive excellent outcomes
• Document assessments and interventions accurately in the patient record
• Respond to emergencies and participate in code and rapid response situations as needed
• Educate patients and families with compassion, ensuring understanding and involvement in care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or eligible for state licensure
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred
• Prior ICU experience or strong critical care exposure preferred
• Excellent critical thinking, communication and teamwork skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management and assessment of respiratory status
• Hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation of invasive lines
• Medication administration and titration of critical care infusions
• Proficient clinical documentation and familiarity with electronic health records
• Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced critical care environment
