Roles & Responsibilities
- Triage and assess patients quickly and accurately in a fast-paced ER environment
- Administer medications and treatments safely while documenting care clearly
- Collaborate with physicians, techs, and ED staff to prioritize patient needs
- Provide compassionate patient- and family-centered care during high-stress moments
- Respond to emergency codes and participate in resuscitation efforts as needed
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up plans
Qualifications
- Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license (required)
- Current BLS; ACLS and PALS preferred or obtained soon after hire
- Experience in Emergency Nursing or similar acute care setting preferred
- Strong assessment, triage, and critical thinking skills
- Demonstrated ability to work calmly under pressure and in a team
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Emergency nursing practices, triage, and rapid assessment
- Familiarity with electronic health records and clear clinical documentation
- Ability to manage trauma, acute medical, and behavioral health presentations
- Effective communication with multidisciplinary teams and families
- Skill in IV therapy, medication administration, and emergency procedures
