Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts including days (7:00 AM-7:30 PM), mid-shifts (10:00 AM-10:30 PM, 11:00 AM-11:30 PM, 1:00 PM-1:30 AM, 3:00 PM-3:30 AM), and nights (7:00 PM-7:30 AM); self-scheduling on a 4-week schedule with weekend rotation

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $76 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to a diverse patient population in a fast-paced 18-bed ED
Triage, assess, stabilize, and treat patients with a wide range of emergency conditions
Collaborate with a team of ED physicians, mid-levels, LVNs, and ED techs to ensure seamless patient care
Document patient information accurately in Cerner EMR
Manage ventilated patients and assist with critical procedures as needed
Float between two facilities (6.5 miles apart) when necessary, with advance notice

Qualifications

Current California RN license in good standing
BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department experience preferred
Strong teamwork and communication skills, must be able to work as primary job without competing schedules
Ability to handle high patient volumes (85-115 patients per day) with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio

Knowledge & Skills

Proficiency in Cerner EMR and Philips telemetry systems
Expertise in emergency triage, trauma care, and cardiac/stroke management
Experience with ventilators, IV therapy, and medication administration via Omnicell
Knowledge of CDCR (correctional) patient protocols is a plus
Ability to adapt to fast-paced environment and float between facilities
